Strawberries and creme
A glimpse inside my closet
This dress reminds me of Florida. I bought it at Target when I was living there.
You can most definitely describe it as goudy. I mean… it mixes leopard and floral print, but I love it. I don't know if it's the vibrant colors, or the fact that I bought it at the peak of my independence, but it always seems to lift my spirits. We all have different taste, and different reasons for liking the things we like. It's important to embrace the differences and rock the looks you love-- simply because you loving it is enough. Side note: The sunglasses are from Old Navy and the midi boots are from last season at TJ Maxx's.

I'm not thrifty but when I tell people I got this skirt at a thrift shop they probably think I am. I have two secondhand skirts that I wear often, but other than that nothing I have ever gotten from a thrift shop was something I treasured.
This particular skirt is one of my favorites because I like the length of it. I rarely stray from skinny jeans so buying my first pair of boyfriend jeans felt so wrong. I worked at American Eagle for a short while. As part of my training, I had to try on every style of jeans sold at the store, so I could give customers my firsthand experience with the fit.
I learned quickly that a lot of styles don't work on me. I don't remember trying boyfriend jeans at American Eagle but I recently bought a pair from H &M that I really like. They are a good look for summer, nice and casual for late night walks on the beach. If you are unsure whether or not to splurge on a pair of boyfriend jeans, I give them a thumbs up-- but hey, that's just me. I've been watching Candidly Nicole lately and naturally i've become obsessed with Nicole Richie. I love her style and for a brief time, I was considering cutting my hair into a bob and dying it purple. I had to rationalize that one-- real quick! Instead, I opted for the cute, low-set bun that she styles her hair in and magically makes her look so high fashion. I went to a fancy dinner and in order to make my beach cover up more formal, I threw together this bun, and added a red lip. ( Click here for a picture of her bun-- and try it out!) The dress is made by Solitaire Swim, I found it at Marshalls so I don't have a link for it, sorry!
I am secretly hoping I got the only one ever made-- it's a real gem. Be jealous. I came across my mom’s old Jackson Browne t-shirt today and fell in love.
She gave it to me forever ago and even though i’m not a Jackson Browne fan, every time I clean out my closet I always throw it in the ‘keep’ pile. It's a ribbed t-shirt which I think makes it seem more vintage than it actually is. |
